This website was created by non-entrepreneurial legal entity, NELP Association UDI. Director of NELP UDI and author of the website is Simon, Mamuli Neshumashvili.
NGO UDI was founded in Kvareli, registered by Kvareli Court on 29th January 2001. Organization was re-registered in June 2008, with the name NELP UDI. The court has assigned wide-scale mission to NELP UDI: study, recording and popularization of the cultural heritage of the ethnical minorities and especially the of the endangered Udis. Study of the problems of the basic population and ethnical minorities, regulation of the relations between them. Protection of human rights, production of the integrated fonts, publication of the textbooks and books, commencement of teaching of Udi language and maintenance of the Udi language and samples of cultural heritage by this.
Office of NELP Association Uni is located in Kvareli District, in village Zinobiani (Oktomberi), which is densely settled by the Udis.
For the purpose of fulfillment of its significant mission, NELP, Association Udi closely cooperates with both, the state structures and non-governmental organizations, diplomatic and donor organizations, educational and scientific organizations, mass media and TV companies.
From the date of its establishment, NELP Association Udi has implemented numerous significant projects. These are sustainable, effectual projects, which are still operational:
- 2009 – 2010. Funding from: Swiss Development and Cooperation Agency, Swiss Collaboration Office in Southern Caucasus (SDC). Project: “Udi Culture Should Become the Part of Developed Civilization”.
- 2008 – 2009. Funding from: Open Society Georgia (OSGF). Project: “Prospects of Systemic Regulation of Problems and Civil Integration – on the Example of Udi Ethnical Minority”.
- 2002. Funding from: Open Society Georgia (OSGF). Project: Udis in Georgia – Ethnographical Museum in Georgia.
- 2001 – 2002. Introduction and teaching of Udi language and relevant support with the textbooks, literature, Udi fonts, at the public school of Oktomberi, densely settled with Udis.
- Collaboration with the training-educational structures.
- Establishment of the virtual academy Noah and Uti and its launching on the basis of NELP Udi. Preparation of the essays, hearing and participation in conferences at the national and international levels, conducting of the research works.
